"Latscho dieves - auf deutsch heißt das: Ich bin Dotschy und singe Ihnen jetzt ein Lied." Dotschy Reinhardt ist eine Entdeckung, nicht nur musikalisch. Die Sprache in der sie singt klingt wie Portugiesisch, ist es aber nicht: Es ist Romanes, die Sprache ihrer Familie, der Sinti und Roma.
Die Familie, das sind die Reinhardts. Genau, die Familie der berühmten Musiker Schnuckenack und Django Reinhardt, der "Erfinder" des Gipsy-Jazz. Mit denen ist Dotschy nicht nur verwandt, sie hat auch deren Talent geerbt, so scheint es.
Schon mit fünf Jahren trat Dotschy zum ersten Mal auf - mit Jazz. Heute verknüpft sie traditionelle Sintimusik mit Bossa Nova und Pop, sie singt Liebeslieder und Geschichten über ihre Leute zwischen Wohnwagenromantik und Alltag - und verdreht uns damit völlig den Kopf.
Entspannung ist an diesem Abend angesagt!

‘Latscho dieves’ – which in English means: I’m Dotschy and I’m going to sing you a song”. Dotschy Reinhardt is a discovery –
and not just in a musical sense. The language that she sings in sounds like Portuguese, but isn’t. It’s the Roma language –
the language of her family, who are Sinti and Romanies. That’s the Reinhardt family. Yes, that’s right, the family of the
famous musicians, Schnuckenack and Django Reinhardt, the “inventors” of gipsy jazz. Dotschy is not only related to them –
she’s seemingly inherited their talent. Dotschy gave her first performance at the age of only five – jazz, of course. Nowadays
she combines traditional Roma music with Bossa Nova and Pop. She sings love songs and stories about her people, ranging from
caravan romances to everyday life – and in doing so makes us crazy for her!
This evening is going to be very relaxed and a lot of fun!
